Fed’s Evans hints new rate hike this year isn’t a given (subscription)

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Charles Evans said Wednesday there would be room for an “honest discussion” later in 2017 on whether it was the right time to raise interest rates—suggesting another hike by year-end wasn’t a done deal.

“I’ve been supportive of our gradual pace to date and I think the four rate increases that we’ve had so far have been fine.”
